RELATIONSHIP DRIVEN
I support the development of the whole learner by first and foremost creating an environment of trust and safety.
At Kaiser, our core values are: Relentlessly show respect Own your impact Purposefully lead Embrace a growth mindset Dedicated to community. I SHOWCASE every single one of my students for their efforts in showing our core values. I use community circles to engage them in conversation about how they own their impact, and I make sure to share this with parents to bridge our home-to-school support and communication with families. Our environment is accepting, and I communicate to my students every day that we embrace a growth mindset by embracing cultures, each other, and our core values. |

RESULTS FOCUSED
I ensure high expectations for every student in both character and academics by creating pathways for students to OWN their learning and articulate their progress.
In the Data in Instruction page, you can view the entire process of how I monitor progress alongside students, and how students own and communicate their achievement and growth. I provide targeted support that is responsive to student needs. I also ensure to build collective efficacy among my grade level team by sharing Quick Checks and reviews that I create so that we address our essential professional learning community (PLC) questions together: 1. What do we want students to learn? 2. How will we know when they’ve learned it? 3. What will we do for those who didn’t? 4. What will we do for those that have learned it? |
intentionally personalized
From our data, I create personalized student learning pathways. I leverage technology by creating digital micro-lessons, students can intentionally practice in the skills they have not mastered YET while receiving in-the-moment-feedback. Students are also able to use self-assessing tools to collaborate and grow with fellow learners.
For students who have demonstrated their learning, they are provided with challenges to enrich their experiences! |

Our learner characteristics are:
Look creatively Engage collaboratively Analyze critically Risk-take in learning, and Never give up! and I constantly use these to foster a classroom culture of risk-taking in learning, collaboration, reflecting on learning, and innovation. We approach learning challenges and objectives, knowing that we will go through our "learning pit" to become better learners using our strategies. I ensure that students refer to their learner characteristics as we endeavor together in STEAM challenges. This way, we can see the immediate and cultural relevance of what we learn in the classroom. Students also learn that THEY ARE CAPABLE and can advocate for themselves as lifelong and curious learners. |
parent communication
In order to support the WHOLE learner, having a strong school-t0-home relationship is crucial, so we can all best support our students!
